Angelica V. Martinez

HARLINGEN, TX — Angelica V. Martinez, 89, went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon at a local nursing home. Born in Abram, TX she had lived in Harlingen most of her life, though she did live in Sacramento, CA for several years.
She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Parish and in her younger years was a member of Vela Perpetual and Choir at Immaculate Heart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymondo Martinez; her parents, Gregorio L. and Maria Longoria Villarreal; 3 brothers, Gilberto Villarreal, Lisandro Villarreal and Reynaldo Villarreal; 2 sisters, Beatriz V. Longoria and Orfelina Villarreal.
Survivors include, Senaida V. Garcia of Harlingen, Delia V. (Alfredo) Rezio of Harlingen, Olivia (Santana Sr.) Guerra of Harlingen; 1 brother, Leofredo "Fred" (Consuelo) Villarreal of Harlingen. Also survived by 1 nephew and 1 niece she raised as her own, Reynaldo Villarreal Jr. of Sacramento, CA and Angelica V. Escudero of San Jose, CA and also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today beginning at 5 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Private burial will be at a later date.
