Records show that in 1767 Reynosa porcion 19 on the south side of the river was granted to Josepha Cano it was also stated that she turned over pocession to Juan Antonio Longoria , her nephew and adopted son. Porcion 19 was marked out and Joseph Cano petitioned for it and it was adjudicated to him in consideration of his having an improved ranch called (nuestra senora de Dolores) upon it. This may have been Josepha not Joseph. My genealogy does show an Ana Josefa Cano as his aunt sister of Maria Salome Cano his mother.
