Miguel Hinojosa (or Miguel de Ynojosa) was the Original Grantee of the "El Palmito" grant, covering 5 leagues ( 22,140 acres) in present-day Kenedy County, Texas. The grant was made by the Mexican state of Tamaulipas in 1833 and was confirmed by the Texas legislature on February 10, 1852. The "El Palmito" grant was south of and adjacent to the "San Pedro de las Motas" grant. Thus, Miguel Hinojosa married the daughter of his neighbor to the north. Parents: Diego HINOJOSA and Rosa Maria DE LA GARZA.
