Imogene married first a Harry Agard (1903) and had two daughters Mary (b. 1904) and Vera (b. 1908). She later (ca. 1915) married Hilton Ross Greer a newspaperman in Dallas, and had two more daughters Jane (b. 1916) and Hilda (b. 1922). Harry was alive at the time of the second marriage.
Imogene's father (presumably Seymour's son William Gholson Puryear) calls himself W.G. in the 1880 census. He and his wife "H.D." are enumerated twice in Parker County; they have a little boy 3 months old who is known once as W.H. and next time as H.W. The boy would appear to be the second Seymour, but the initials don't quite match up, nor for that mattter does the age. Apparently the father "W.G." is dead by 1900 as "H.D." is then a widow with six kids at home.
This mother "H.D." (presumably Hanna Deborah nee Gholson, whose name I would not have known without your posting) seems to have soon married a Scotsman, a stonecutter named James Hutchinson (b. ca 1860) and they had a daughter Jennie (b. 1903). James is a widow in 1910 which seems to imply that Hanna had died by then. I get this only from census tracks: Jennie Hutchinson claims Imogene as sister in 1910 (but it can surely only be half sister), while James claims to be Imogene's step-father.
I broke into this circle by googling Hilton R. Greer, where it was reported in a summary of his life that he had married an Imogene Puryear Agard. The first name "Harry" for Imogene's Agard husband is a pure guess based on what Agards were available in Texas in those years. He is a real person, and I do have all details of his earlier life, but he is missing in 1910, in Texas in 1920, and if alive in 1930 he has moved to Wisconsin with a new wife Daisy Latham.)
Any comments greatly appreciated, and if you want any more information on the Agards I will gladly provide.
